Odeon, the cinema operator owned by Guy Hands' Terra Firma, has made use of a financial tool that is sometimes considered to be controversial to free up capital.

The property arm of the Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group first completed a sale and leaseback of some of its properties in 2007 and has now sold 10 of its properties under the structure.
