Transport for London has launched a competition process to select up to three private operators for the city’s e-scooter expansion, after the government greenlit usage of the scooters over the summer.
Privately-owned e-scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, but e-scooters rented from approved operators may be used in trial zones such as London’s Victoria Park. Once approved, Londoners will be able to ride scooters from the new operators on all roads across the capital.
