Top bankers at JPMorgan who advised on the Standard Life Aberdeen merger, have been retained by the fund manager to work on the £3.2bn sale of its insurance business to Phoenix Group.

The US bank turned to executives who have been making waves internally since last year's £11bn merger between Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management.
