Last week, fast-food giant McDonald’s announced it had fired its chief executive and president Steve Easterbrook over a consensual relationship he had with an employee, which violated company policy.

Easterbrook had worked for McDonald’s for 25 years and admitted he had shown “poor judgement” in starting a relationship with a colleague.
