Should I call out unethical behaviour even if it will hurt my career?

I’ve spoken to a fair few bank whistleblowers over the years and one thing they all say, is that unless you want to become a whistleblowing consultant, it is not good for your career. I’ve heard of whistleblowers being bullied, sidelined and fired for spurious reasons.
