The FD interview: David Marks - Monstermob keeps abreast of the market

The finance director of the mobile phone content supplier is confident that his company's south-east Asia acquisitions will ring up good profits

David Marks, finance director of Monstermob, leans forward, looks serious and clarifies a vital aspect of the company's operations. "We have a ‘no-nipples' policy," he says.

Monstermob, which announced a first-half profit of £3.52m (€5.2m) last week – a fourfold increase – operates in the red-hot field of mobile phone content. It supplies ringtones, games and music to your handset and has come under pressure to generate extra revenue by throwing pornography into the mix. "Some journalists have tried to suggest that we are interested in that but we absolutely are not. Frankly, it's more grief than it's worth," says Marks.
