Prime Minister Theresa May’s decision to cancel December 11’s vote on her divisive Brexit deal — and delay to an as-yet-unspecified future date — will be seen by many as prolonging the agony. If MPs eventually opt to support a version of this deal, it will buy the City two more years to hammer out the details of its future relationship with institutions in the European Union.
