The private equity charity that took its own advice

Combining the two buyout industry charities was never going to be easy but almost two years down the line, a push is on for better performance

Private equity and charity are not areas that are normally associated with each other. Yet, for years, the buyout industry in the UK had not one but two dedicated charities raising millions a year from executives.

In true private equity style, that ultimately resulted in a merger. The problem was that while Impetus and The Private Equity Foundation had spent years advising other UK charities on efficiency, measuring results and strategy, they were now getting a taste of their own medicine.
