Banks tend to keep very quiet when staff members leave – and often they are thrust out the door on the day they quit. But when Kaufman departed for pastures greener last week, colleagues thought they would send him off with a rather large leaving card. All very normal, you may say. However, it was a little indiscreet for one employee to deposit a package containing the card on the main reception desk, stage whispering to the receptionist: "It's Ed Kaufman's leaving card." Oops, the secret's out.
