Spare a thought for Jeff Peek, the head of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, who has left the firm after being passed over for the job of president. According to recent filings with the SEC, Peek will walk away from the firm with $17.9m worth of shares in the firm. Not bad as a nest egg, but not quite as good as the $33m the shares were worth at the beginning of the year.
