The bean counters have struck at Sainsbury's. Eager listeners to DJ Keith Greentree of BBC Radio Norwich have answered his challenge to count how many baked beans are contained in a 420-gram can, and found that Sainsbury's offers poor value.

They have found there are only 419 Sainsbury's baked beans per can, compared to a whacking 642 crammed into Safeway's. Tesco has 440 while premium-priced Heinz weighs in with 442.
