As the bankers’ banker to many of Europe’s top financial industry chief executives, Andrea Orcel’s wedding last week is likely to have featured among its invitees more than a few of the great and the good from the banking industry.

Sources close to the ceremony, which was held in Rome, remained tight-lipped and all that one would say was there were "some clients" at the wedding, though no names, aside from that of the groom and his former boss at Merrill Lynch, Greg Fleming, could be confirmed by Financial News.
