Exchange industry veteran Jean-François Théodore, deputy chief executive and director of NYSE Euronext, is to retire at the end of this year, but he will continue to guide the exchange operator’s agenda, which is likely to include strategic mergers and acquisitions.

NYSE Euronext said Théodore, who will be 63 years old by the end of 2009, intends to stay on as a director of the company.
