Thomas confirmed as Merrin successor

Morgan Stanley Investment Management has confirmed Owen Thomas as its new president. He has been acting head for the past three months following the retirement of Mitch Merrin, who left the division in September with a pay-off understood to be $11m (€8.93m).

Thomas was previously head of Morgan Stanley Real Estate, the bank's property franchise, since 2000.
