Thomas Nides to join Blackstone as vice-chair

Blackstone is hiring veteran banker and diplomat Thomas Nides as vice-chair for strategy and client relations as the investment behemoth expands its global reach.

Nides, 62 years old, will support firm-wide strategic initiatives and special projects and help tend to Blackstone’s most important client relationships around the world, executives at the private equity firm told fellow Dow Jones Group title The Wall Street Journal.
