Thomson Financial, the financial IT supplier, has appointed Lou Ecclestone president of its sales and trading group.

Ecclestone will take up his role in New York on July 1. He will be responsible for the company's worldwide sales and trading business, including subsidiaries ILX Systems, the market data system developer, Autex, the electronic database and online real-time network for trade order indications and executions, and Beta Systems, the securities data processing firm.
