Thomson Reuters hires in Elektron push

Data firm hires former Liquidnet and Instinet executive as it seeks to expand its low latency network

Thomson Reuters has appointed a business development executive from trading firm Liquidnet as it pushes forward with plans to expand its low latency network infrastructure into Europe.

Robert Cranston has joined Thomson Reuters' platform and direct feeds business, which sits within its broader trading division, according to sources familiar with the matter. He will work in the division's product and business development group and will report to Bob Sampson, business development manager for the platform and direct feeds businesses, the sources said.
