The asset manager has hired three ex-Merrill Lynch executives as part of its aggressive Asia expansion

Threadneedle has hired three ex-Merrill Lynch veterans as part of an aggressive Asia expansion which is being spearheaded by Raymundo Yu, a former rainmaker at the US investment bank.

The London-based asset management division of Ameriprise Financial, which has £67.7bn of assets under management, has lured Andrew Chan out of retirement to take on a role as head of product and business development for Asia Pacific.
