Three fail to convert QinetiQ mandates

Carlyle set to make eight times its money

Deutsche Bank, UBS and Morgan Stanley, which have all worked on deals connected with UK ministry of defence-owned security group QinetiQ, have failed to win a place on the strategic review which could float it.

Instead, Credit Suisse First Boston, JP Morgan Chase and Merrill Lynch will weigh options. A flotation is likely to be valued at £1.1bn (€1.6bn).
