Timing of UK pension reforms comes under fire

The UK government is facing criticism from the institutional pensions industry over the timing of its pension reform proposals, which seek to extend the age of retirement and simplify tax regimes, in an effort to encourage people to save.

The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF), which welcomes the government report despite it falling short of the radical plans many had called for, wants to see the changes implemented earlier than the expected 2004.
