Tobam CIO on why investing $1m in the S&P is riskier than buying $25k in bitcoin

Yves Choueifaty says bitcoin can act as a diversifier in an investment portfolio, and that it has the potential to become a 'standard measure of value'

Tobam chief investment officer Yves Choueifaty and his colleagues began developing an interest in bitcoin back in 2013 when it was trading at less than $500.

The Parisian funds veteran and his team would gather once a month to discuss the cryptocurrency in a pizzeria, in homage to Laszlo Hanyecz, who in 2010 traded 10,000 bitcoin for two Papa John pizzas.
