Tokyo seeks international regulatory alliances

Tokyo Stock Exchange's regulation arm is seeking to enter discussions with international exchanges in response to increased cross border trading as the market vies with the Chinese exchanges to become the hub for Asian listings.

Masakazu Hayashi, president of the Tokyo Stock Exchange Regulation said at a group media briefing: "Given the increase in cross border trading in recent years, we want to exchange information with regulatory arms of overseas exchanges even more than before. We exchange information on a daily basis with the New York Stock Exchange with whom we already have a business alliance."
