The brother of former UK prime minster Tony Blair has been appointed to sit on the board of appeal that oversees the three newly created European financial supervisory bodies.
William Blair, a high court judge and leading QC in banking law, has been appointed to the Joint Board of Appeal of the European Banking Authority, the European Securities and Markets Authority, and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority. The three organisations were established in January this year to supervise financial services in the European Union.
