Top CEOs’ pay drops below £6m — and shareholder protests quieten

Pay for the top 30 FTSE companies's executives was clipped by 7% in 2019

Investors have been more supportive of chief executive pay this AGM season, following a drop in the size of remuneration packages and a promise from firms to monitor remuneration.

The FTSE 30’s top executives have seen their median pay packages drop by 7% in 2019 to £5.9m compared to £6.4m the previous year, an analysis by Deloitte has found. Published on 10 August, the report also noted that salaries for top executives across the entire FTSE 100 have remained the same at around £3.7m.
