The former co-head of the global investment banking division at Credit Suisse, who went on sabbatical in March, has taken up a new role at an Italian business school and will not return to the bank.

Luigi de Vecchi, one of Europe's leading bankers who worked for Credit Suisse in London, was set to return in an "important senior client coverage role", according to an internal memo at the time.
