Jim Esposito, co-head of Goldman Sachs’s sprawling global banking and markets division and one of the senior-most executives at the firm, plans to depart after nearly 30 years.

Among a handful of colleagues who along with chief executive David Solomon have set Goldman’s strategy, Esposito played a big role in merging the firm’s investment-banking and trading teams as part of its reorganisation in late 2022.
