SWFs fear UK ‘investment hub’ status under threat after Brexit
The long-term attractiveness of the UK as an “investment hub” for Europe is at risk post the Brexit vote last year, a new survey by US fund house Invesco reveals. The “attractiveness” rating of the UK fell to 5.5 this year from 7.6 in 2015, according to the survey of 97 sovereign investors that manage cumulative assets worth $12 trillion. (FT)
Advisers urge shareholders to revolt against Google boss pay
Prominent investment advisers ISS, Glass Lewis and Pirc have called for a shareholder revolt over corporate governance issues at Alphabet, the parent company of US internet giant Google. They have asked shareholders to oppose the $200m pay offered to chief executive Sundar Pichai last year at the AGM on Wednesday. (FT)
