Goldman set for bonanza on bond purchase
Goldman Sachs Asset Management last week paid about $865m to purchase bonds worth $2.8bn issued by state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela from London-based brokerage Dinosaur. The price paid for the bonds maturing in 2022 represents a 31% discount to trading Venezuelan securities that mature the same year, and implies an annual yield of at least 40%. (WSJ)
