Financial News published its inaugural Twenty Most Influential in Fund Management list this week, celebrating the leaders in the sector in Europe.

Among those featured are eight female executives, six of whom are overall heads of firms, and the other two are in charge of substantial business lines.

While the asset management industry falls short of the 50/50 mark, it is making better progress than other parts of the City. For example, FN's Twenty Most Influential in Crypto list, published in January, included just three women.

Here are the top women working in the asset management sector in Europe:

Valérie Baudson, chief executive, Amundi

Hortense Bioy, global director of sustainability research, Morningstar

Deborah Fuhr, founder and managing partner, ETFGI

Sylvia Pozezanac, CEO, Redington

Dame Anne Richards, chief executive, Fidelity International

Michelle Scrimgeour, CEO, Legal & General Investment Management

Jane Sloan, Emea head of iShares and index investments, BlackRock

Hanneke Smits, chief executive, BNY Mellon Investment Management
