London-based hedge fund Toscafund Asset Management has hired an executive from a US peer to work on its nascent private equity strategy, FN's sister publication Private Equity Newsreports.

Toscafund has recruited Patrick Carey, who was previously head of private investments at New York-based Jacobs Asset Management, according to Fabrizio Cesario, a partner at Toscafund.
