TPG tapped former Goldman Sachs president Jon Winkelried to serve as its co-chief executive, the private equity firm’s latest move to put in place its next generation of leaders.

Winkelried, 56 years old, will start in November and work with co-founder and co-CEO Jim Coulter, 55, TPG said on October 29. TPG co-founder David Bonderman, 72, has traditionally run the firm with Coulter; he is now chairman.
