Traders face wake-up call on Brexit workarounds as EU begins clampdown

Many in London wish they could pretend Brexit hadn’t happened. Some are doing just that.

Take one small London brokerage, which uses chats on traders’ Bloomberg terminals to sidestep the new divide between UK and Europe-based staff. A trader told Financial News that the brokerage runs two instant messaging channels to handle trades for European clients: One for daily interactions, and another for order requests which are then handled by EU colleagues in Paris or elsewhere.
