Traders risk mishaps in end-of-day market rush, warns French regulator

AMF report points to rising risks for share dealers, with one unnamed dealer losing €2.2m in a rushed transaction in 2018

The French financial markets regulator has sounded a warning on the growing concentration of stock trading in a five-minute window at the end of each day. It says the problem is particularly acute in French markets, and carries a rising risk of mishaps.

The Autorité des Marchés Financiers highlighted several concerns about the jump in trading during so-called closing auctions, which are run by stock exchanges at the end of every trading day.
