Trading Places: BNP Paribas bulks up leveraged finance team, Latham poaches top capital markets partner

Berenberg hired a head of M&A to lead a push into a new business line as part of a series of recruits as it rebuilds its City operation after job cuts last year. Miles Cox, a partner in the M&A division at rival Peel Hunt, is joining Berenberg in the newly-created role of head of M&A.

BNP Paribas shook up the senior ranks of its leveraged finance unit, installing new leaders in Europe and the Americas as part of a series of changes. Charlotte Conlan has been named vice chair of leveraged finance, Stanford Hartman has been named global head of private credit and solutions within the leveraged finance unit, Paolo Grassi has been promoted to head of leveraged finance in Emea, and Erin Brown has been named head of the unit in the America.
