UBS handed investment bank co-president Marco Valla the reins of its dealmaking unit as part of a broader shake-up of its senior ranks. Valla will take over responsibility for UBS’s global banking business from its current head Javier Oficialdegui, who is stepping down from the role, according to a memo seen by Financial News. London-based Oficialdegui was named chair of global banking.

Bobby Jain’s hedge fund Jain Global hired BlackRock partner Joseph Kansao as a portfolio manager. Kansao was a partner and senior investment professional at BlackRock Global Event Driven Strategies, a multi-billion dollar multi-strategy hedge fund platform.
