TransferWise has become the first non-bank to be accepted by the Bank of England onto its faster payments settlement platform, as the central bank opens up to a broader range of providers and embraces fintech.

The London-based payment service provider joined the platform, which enables it to settle in central bank money, on April 13, according to a statement.
