Transition managers profit from thirst for portfolio mobility

The race to transfer portfolios is picking up speed

For most people in asset management, the gentle rise in stock markets this year has meant a less stressful existence at work than in 2008 and 2009. Transition managers, however, have rarely been busier.

A transition manager works on behalf of an institutional investor when it wants to move a portfolio from one asset management company to another, and transition management is in demand once more.
