UK Treasury announces additional virus relief funding for small and large businesses

More than 130,000 enquiries from businesses have been made for business interruption loans in the UK

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, has announced an extension of the coronavirus loan scheme for small businesses and the introduction of a new financing initiative for larger companies affected by the ongoing pandemic.

The new Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme will provide a government guarantee of 80% on bank loans of up to £25m to firms with annual revenue of between £45m and 500m.
