Increasing taxes now would 'suck the animal spirit out of the economy', according to Stride

The Treasury Committee Chair Mel Stride MP has called on Chancellor Rishi Sunak to clarify how he plans to ensure pandemic-battered businesses and entrepreneurs can survive the virus crisis.

Stride told Financial News that he “would like to know more about what the Treasury is thinking around how we get a very battered private sector and entrepreneurs back up on their feet in an environment in which taxes are almost certainly going to be rising generally.
