Treasury Committee urges UK to prioritise transitional Brexit

Influential panel of MPs says finalising a full bespoke deal before the UK's exit in March 2019 will be a challenge

UK politicians are pushing for the agreement of "urgent" and "simple" transitional trade arrangements with the European Union in light of the challenge of finalising a full bespoke deal before Brexit.

In a new report published today, the Treasury Committee, chaired by Nicky Morgan, said there was a broad agreement between the EU and UK for a transition period after negotiations conclude. However, terms of a transition have yet to be agreed.
