Treasury rejects MPs’ motion to treat crypto as gambling

The UK government has rejected the idea of regulating retail crypto trading as if it were gambling, a recommendation made by the influential Treasury Select Committee.

In a 14 July letter to the committee, City Minister Andrew Griffith said the Treasury “firmly disagrees” with the recommendation.
