Merrill Lynch has quietly lured Mel Trimble, a highly-experienced corporate broker in the investment trust sector, away from Cazenove.

Few people leave Tokenhouse Yard and there is speculation that one of the factors in Trimble's move was disappointment at not being made partner in Cazenove's recent reshuffle. He was not available for comment.
