The likelihood of US President Donald Trump being impeached before the end of his term hit 97% on 13 January, as the ongoing battles in Congress to remove him raged on.

Vice President Mike Pence rejected a push from Democrats to invoke the 25th amendment on 12 January, which would wrest presidential control from Trump, arguing it would set a “terrible precedent”.
