Trustees turn to SRI for own protection

Pension fund trustees have little real interest in socially responsible investing (SRI) and the majority of fund managers believe that trustees turn to SRI not for performance or moral reasons but rather as a way of &quotprotecting their own reputations and deflecting criticism&quot.

Fund managers questioned for Deloitte & Touche's latest SRI survey also clearly indicate that their own interest in SRI is primarily driven by client demand.
