How international exchanges are stepping up in the fight for IPOs

Targeting early listings and smaller firms is helping international exchanges attract public offerings

As City leaders fear losing more listings to New York, international exchanges are also fighting hard to compete for IPOs.

John McKenzie, chief executive officer of Toronto Stock Exchange TMX, said the country's capital markets are growing despite competition from a US market that is 10 times the size of Canada's.
