The UK's Trades Union Congress today demanded that the government ends what it called the "culture of secrecy" in the City of London and change the law to force votes at company annual general meetings to be open to public scrutiny.
At its annual pension trustee network conference today, Brendan Barber, secretary general of the TUC, said a change in the law would complement the government's move last year to force companies to reveal the pay deals of top executives.
