Tullett & Tokyo dismissed Collins Stewart's informal approach

Collins Stewart, the UK stockbroking firm, has made informal approaches to Tullett & Tokyo, ahead of the UK moneybrokers' flotation, which is planned for early next year.

The potential offer from Collins Stewart is understood to have valued the moneybroker at about £220m (€350m), which would have been paid in a mix of cash and shares. Collins, run by Terry Smith, is worth about £320m.
