Interdealer broker Tullett Prebon said it has thrown out "old-fashioned" City codes after taking part in a scheme to hire staff based on factors other than their CV or degree.

The firm has recruited 10 of its 40 trainees set to start later this year by using an unusual process developed by Raw Talent. The sales recruitment and training business was founded by Lee McQueen, the winner of the 2008 series of reality television show The Apprentice.
