Two weeks: The time left before London hospitals will be overwhelmed, NHS warns

In an 'average' scenario London would be short of 2,900 beds by 19 January, and 4,400 in the worst possible outcome

London’s doctors are said to have been told the capital’s hospitals are less than a fortnight away from being overwhelmed by coronavirus patients, even under the “best” case scenario.

NHS England London medical director Vin Diwakar laid out the trouble in a briefing to the medical directors of London’s various hospital trusts on 6 January.
