UBS admits mistakes but won't sue management

Swiss bank will refrain from legal action against former chairman Ospel and other bankers

UBS said today that it made mistakes during the financial crisis, particularly in the investment banking area, but said it would not take legal proceedings against its previous management.

Its decision to refrain from legal action against Marcel Ospel, chairman until 2008, and other former bankers, was both appropriate and necessary, according to the assessment of Peter Forstmoser, a professor of law at the University of Zurich.
